Lieutenant MacIan Campbell

SURFACE WARFARE OFFICER

LT MacIan Campbell is a native of Stillwater, Minnesota. He earned his Bachelors of History from the University of North Dakota in 2016 and was commissioned through Officer Candidate School later that year.

LT Campbell served as the Turbines Officer onboard USS OSCAR AUSTIN (DDG 79) from January 2017 to December 2018. During his time onboard he took the ship through work ups, a Congressional Board of Inspection and Survey, and a seven month deployment to the 5th and 6th fleet areas of operation. He then transferred to USS OAK HILL (LSD 51) to serve as the Assistant Damage Control Assistant from April 2018 to July 2020. He has completed two back to back deployments to the 5th and 6th fleet areas of operation, as well as provided hurricane relief efforts in the Bahamas and Florida.

Currently, LT Campbell serves as the class advisor to the freshman class of 2024 and teaches Introduction to Naval Science and Navigation. He is working on his Masters Degree in Human Rights at the University of Minnesota and Joint Professional Military Education (JPME I) from the Naval War College. 

LT Campbell's awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Battle Excellence Award, and various other unit and service awards.
