Captain Austin Duke

MARINE OFFICER INSTRUCTOR

Capt Austin Duke is from Matthews, Indiana. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2007 and achieved the occupational specialties within the infantry community of 0331, Machine Gunner, Mortarman, Assualtman, Anti-tank Missileman, Rifleman, Combat Instructor, and Master Instructor. He served 10 years enlisted in 2d Battalion, 3d Marines, The School of Infantry East-Infantry Training Battalion, and Advanced Infantry Training Battalion until commissioning through North Carolina State University in 2016 as a Gunnery Sergeant. 

Capt Duke graduated from The Basic School in 2017 as Military Skills Award Graduate, Leadership Award Graduate, and Honor Graduate with the occupational specialty, Logistics Officer. His operational deployments include Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom x2, Marine Rotational Force Darwin, Australia, Unit Deployment Program Okinawa, Japan, and Winter Workhorse, South Korea.  Most recently, Capt Duke was the Assistant Logistics Officer at 3d Battalion, 3d Marines, 3d Marine Division. 

Capt Duke has degrees in Accounting, History, and is Expeditionary Warfare School complete. 

His awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, Combat Action Ribbons, and various unit and service awards.

He is married to Lenona Vierra, a native Kaneohe, Hawaii and has two children, Leland and Harper Duke.
